I play with textures, my own and those graciously shared with me by others, and find my Second Life avatar a willing subject for my Photoshop experimentations.
Many people consider SL to be an extension of reality, I see it more as a luxury that affords us intense play/interaction with some very interesting minds from around the globe.
Visuals entertain me.
Words engage me.
People transform me.

"I'm unsure exactly how or when I first encountered Theo, though I do recall an early discussion of hers addressing the subject of the rightness or wrongness of obliging flickrdom to comment on 'x' or 'y' number of images in groups. Given how much of flickr commenting is restricted to brief and effusively positive engagement, it was refreshing to see someone willing to take the accepted paradigm head on - the subsequent discussion was equally enlightening.
Investigating further, I found a very reflective artist producing both works from and content within Second Life. Her work with textures is rarely bettered and steers clear of being saccharine coated, whilst all the while revealing an emotional depth that belies the fact that it is a thin veneer of screen represented pixels arranged by online GGI. In all though, you see the artist at work, moulding these same pixels to her will.
Of her SL content, I would only say that any avatar without a set of her eyes in their inventory is impoverished for that lack. Knowing just a little of why she chose eyes as her creative input to SL, I can only say that this demonstrates her true depth as a human being.
