Frank Eleveld says:
"Steven has put together an impressive body of work, portraying the modern man-made landscape in a masterful and distinct way. His work is a source of inspiration, not just to me, but also to many others I'm sure. One of my favorite photographers, and not just here on Flickr."

"Taking a look through Steve’s photos is like taking the ultimate road trip through gorgeous Northwest pastorals and fabulous car-as-landscapes. You’ll be astounded by the compositions, delighted by the light, entranced by the colors and charmed by the sense of story.
I always look forward to the incredible places he will lead us next. His impeccable talent and true good-naturedness make him the ideal person to be in the drivers seat. Thanks for the incredible ride, Steve!"28th August, 2010

Tim Schreier says:
"Steven Brooks makes me want to travel to the Pacific Northwest simply to walk behind him for one day. To see what he sees. Because of stalker laws, this is not possible. I am simply left to marvel at his wonderful work on Flicker.
I admire Steven's work because of the way he seems to capture the most minimal subject yet open a story book at the same time. I have written that his photos are "cinematic", they are and more, so much more. I write for a living. Steven's work inspires stories that should be told, everyday stories about everyday things. I encourage people to view and think beyond the image; what is happening here? what just happened? what is about to happen?
Every time I open Steven's page, I am inspired to take better pictures (of course) but also to think about surroundings, to become more aware of my own environment. I learn so much from his work, I gush!
Keep it up Steven, your work is so inspiring to me and I am sure to many others who truly appreciate greatness. You teach me to be more disciplined in minimalism, more patient and more aware of the world around me and it's beauty.
