I work in a car factory (Jaguar/LandRover) as an electrician on maintenance.
Have lived in Huyton, Merseyside all my life and have been married to Jean (a Geordie) since 1981.
I'm a member (and former council member) of Liverpool Astronomical Society and have tried my hand at astrophotography with varying results (it's quite a discipline) using a variety of lenses and several telescopes that I've been able to lay my hands on.
I love travelling with my wife and have visited Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands and China in recent years (amongst other, less exotic places!).
My photographic interests are varied but I do like landscapes, particularly those with interesting cloud formations. HDR is great and I like doing it for effect but it's not the be-all-and-end-all of photography as there's nothing better than a nicely composed, lit and interesting straight photo where time has been taken to get the initial subject right in the first place.
