Southern Rivers Catchment Management Authority (CMA) plays a vital role in the management of South Coast catchments from Stanwell Park in the North to the Victorian border, including the Snowy River.

Southern Rivers CMA was established in 2004 by the NSW Government to ensure the protection and sustainable development of land, vegetation and water resources within the catchment. It answers directly to the Minister for Environment and Climate Change. Southern Rivers CMA sees the development of strong partnerships in natural resource management as critical to its success, and works closely with local communities, farmers and other land managers, Landcare, government agencies, local government, Aboriginal people, and industries within the catchment to achieve its goals.
