Thanks for browsing through my odd assortment of photos, I welcome all comments and critiques and apologize since my page is a bit neglected.

Photography has been a passion of mine all my life. I started shooting with black & white film in my teens and processed it myself. One of the those amazing moments in life is watching an image materialize before your eyes in the processing tray, it's magical. I still love shooting film, especially B&W and I love the unpredictability of it, the random mistakes that create mystical effects and how tangible it is compared to the digital images.

I do shoot digital now as well and I am very interested in studying the differences between film vs digital image consumption. I find digital fast and fleeting and somehow less tangible than film photography, probably because such a miniscule amount of it ever gets printed. Almost disposable...but I guess I'm 'old school'. Consider for a moment whether all of the unpublished images on your computer would exist (or not?) for the duration of a power failure.

I am also really interested in studying and using photography as a medium for social change. I have done fundraising for charities with it in the past but i feel it has so much more potential. Combining the power of the image with the omniprescence of social media gives us a very powerful and undervalued tool. It really is true that a picture tells a thousand words...or is it 'the medium is the message"?

Thanks for taking the time and feel free to drop me a line me if you agree or disagree.
