Basement Project Space is a co-operative Art space located in the Basement level of Ozalid House on Camden Quay, Cork city, Ireland. It was co-founded by 3 Cork-based artists Lorraine Mc Donnell, Stephanie Hough, and Rachel Mc Donnell in July 2009. Through a ‘call for interest’ published in the Visual Artists e-bulletin we gained 3 additional artists Claire Murphy, Colm Madden and Paul Maguire whom we are delighted to welcome on-board this exciting venture.

The Space consists of a Project/Exhibition area at the front of the building with a designated common area.

Also to the rear of the building there is 3-shared artist studios and a Media Lab.

Our aim is to offer an alternative interdisciplinary visual art space in order to engage in current contemporary dialogue between practitioner, practice and viewer.
