I am new to photography and consider myself a newbie.

I got my first dslr last year (April 2009) and it was a Nikon D60 with the 18-55mm kit lens and 55-200mm zoom lens. The only reason I bought a dslr is because it was on sale at Costco :). Believe it or not, probably 99% of the time, it was always set in automatic mode :) I didn't even understand aperture, shutter speed, iso, etc. I got interested in photography when my friend showed me some awesome pictures here in flickr back in September 2009. I told myself, I have to learn it! Browsing the web, reading magazines and books at Barnes and Noble, asking friends, I slowly understand the fundamentals of photography.

Still, I have a lot to learn. So, any comments or suggestions you can provide me to better my photography skills is greatly appreciated.

Just this year (January 2010), I upgraded to Canon T2i with 18-55mm kit lens and loving it.

I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines (my parents are from Leyte).
I am married with 2 kids.
I am an IT professional working as a Software Architect/Developer.
I am a creative person.
I am a happy person that always smile :) see?

    "There are hundreds if not thousands of very talented photographers here in Flickr. Each one of them is an inspiration whose work is something that we would always want to emulate. But only few of them would leave us a mark. I do think, that flickr is more than photography. We become hooked to it not because of the beautiful pictures we find and share here as there are even more beautiful pictures in the magazines.
