I am originally from the Netherlands and since 2003 I live in Quebec city, Canada. Photography for me has gradually grown to be an essential component in my life. My father gave me my first camera (Seagull df-300) with several lenses when I was 15 and ever since then I have been trying to understand and create images that please me and other.

The feeling and basis of photography for me;
Photography for me is more than a passion, more like an essential component of my life which allows me to quench that thirst and will of creating something that I like to look at......and need to share.....it seems that the more I do it, the more I see things around me that I want to photograph and become nearly restless if I don't. I initially started in photographing more landscape and nature photography (macro and other) especially during my period in Iceland (2001-2003). I moved to Quebec in 2003 where I have started experimenting with studio work as well as the basic darkroom techniques. In 2008 I made the big step from 35 mm film( Canon EOS 5) to digital (Canon 40D) facilitating post-processing techniques and helping enormously in becoming more prolific.

What drives me in photography;
seeing beautiful images around me on flickr, in magazines, newspapers and those made by my favorite authors. My major drive, however, comes from inside me......the more experience I gather in photography through time, the more ideas I seem to have, ideas that are eager to be executed.

The fun for me in photography;
I really enjoy taking images in my studio and making the people in front of the lens feel at ease.....may it be a pregnant mother or couple, a newborn or a complete family. I enormously enjoy and am becoming experienced in wedding photography; from the preparations to the tossing of the bouquet, I'm there to capture those unforgettable moments. I have been doing so for more than three years now. I have always had an urge to share my work as a photographer and put my passion to use. I have therefor set up PhotoTB.

With passion for photography as a background, PhotoTB is a company designed for corporate, wedding and small studio photography primarily for the region of Quebec (Québec city and surroundings). Speaking English, Spanish, French, Dutch and Icelandic I could also be a valuable and useful photographer for weddings (or other projects) in the United Stated, Europe, Central and South America upon demand.
