Education Conversations is an initiative by Shikaya and The Field Education that aims to engage South Africans in constructive, engaging and solution-driven conversations about the issues facing education today.
The project currently consists of three elements:
Education Conversations - A series of public talks that bring together people who are passionate about education – stakeholders, policymakers, education officials, parents and the general public. The aim is to spark dialogue about the currents challenges and opportunities facing education in SA today. The first four talks have been made possible by partnering with the DBSA and The Mail and Guardian
“What If & Here’s How” - A nationwide media campaign that enables people involved in education to share their experiences of success and propose practical solutions.
School Summits - A nationwide initiative that encourages and supports entire school communities to work together to dream, plan, implement and learn together. This community includes learners, parents, teachers, governing bodies, the education department, NGO’s and Business. Support includes training and facilitation.
