My name is Galen Olson and I am 21 years old. I briefly attended The Art Institute of Portland for Digital Film and Video. Filmmaking is fun, but I love photography just as much.

I have about 6 years of experience, both with digital and darkroom photography. I was a photographer at the Vancouver Mall 'Picture People' before it had closed down. I had two photo showcases at Ad Astra Salon in Portland, OR, a small showcase at Angst Gallery in Vancouver, WA, and I am preparing for my new collection of photography to be shown at Vancouver School of Arts and Academics in the spring of 2011!

I am inspired by everything around me (people, abstract objects, texture, fashion) and I like creating new things with photography that I don't see very often. Originality is my philosophy. You may or may not like one of my photos, but either way I think that is what art is: eliciting an emotional response, good or bad!

I love looking at other photographer's work and meeting new people. As far as my critiques, I'm always going to focus on the positives. And if I have suggestions, I'll say them in a nice way! If you want me to rip apart your photos, go find someone else to do that - there are plenty of people that'll do that out there.
