I grew up in rural South Australia.
I can only imagine all of the wonderful photo opportunities I could have had while working on the local farms.
At age sixteen I ran away for home to live in Adelaide, where I currently reside.
Have had many careers over my lifetime from nurse to funeral director to dance teacher to fitness instructor. Always wanted to do something new.
After yet another bout of depression in October 2008, I decided to leave the workforce and take up photography.
Photography has been such a huge part of my mental health as it is creative and helps me to focus on what is beautiful, interesting and colourful etc.
I really like flickr as it is a social networking community and I am inspired by others photographic work.
Photography has a therapeutic effect on me because it brings me into the present, (the NOW) as it were.
It also has helped me to process the world ‘visually’ rather than kinesthetically (through my feelings). My feelings are not a good judge of things, and are often wrong.

P.S. (I'm dyslexic, but I'm not sensitive about it at all, so you can laugh with me).
