ZanaA is a non-profit organization located in Nairobi, Kenya focused on bringing change, through African-led innovation, to the women and children who need it the most.

At ZanaA, we have formed empowerment groups in the informal settlement of Kibera, with high school graduates from Kibera teaching young students about peer pressure, their sexuality, self esteem, and a number of other topics.

We are also working to distribute eco-friendly sanitary pads to school-going girls in Kibera who, as of now, have no proper means of controlling their periods, and who often miss up to 5 days of school per month for that reason. This puts them behind boys in school, and leads to low self esteem and, at times, embarrassment and shame.
