Welcome, intrepid Flickr-er! My name is Erik. Portland, Oregon is my home and playground.

First, here's some perspective on my photography. The pictures I post here show where I've been and doing what I enjoy. I seem to take pictures when engaging in the aspects of my life that just happen to be photogenic.

I use Google Picasa as a free, easy way to enhance things a bit with pictures. I seem to keep the pictures looking the way I experienced it with my own eyes. As a rule - that certainly is broken from time to time - I prefer my photography to accurately reflect the basic beauty of reality in the world.

As for the community aspects of Flickr, I really enjoy watching and commenting on my contacts' photostreams and sharing my photos with all of you. It should be said that I gravitate towards quality over quantity when it comes to contacts in real life and here on Flickr. Please understand that this forces me to be almost impossibly selective about who I add as a contact, based on the myriad of things that are important to me.

My partner, Jessica, and I used to maintain this site collaboratively. But our own personal development and changes in habits have caused some separation in the Flickr realm. It has been a positive progression. Jessica now has her own page.
