When I was 12 I spent a month in my cousins hotel in the Pyrenee's, my trusty camera always at hand. I returned home and handed my mother the 6 rolls of film (I wasn't going to pay for the developing - I was a poor 12 year old).
My mother picked them up and looked through all the photo's, eager to see how her favourite niece and her 3 year old were looking. She was furious - she had paid for 6 sets of prints (costing a small fortune in 1978) and not one of the pictures included a human face. There were tree's mountains, streams and even a few cows - but no people.

Since that time I have been facinated with portraits. When I was 18 and at college, I gave up drinking for 3 months, thereby saving enough money from my student grant to buy my first slr and several lenses. Ever since I have been photographing people all over the world.

In 1999 I swiched over to digital - being able to check the photos straight away was a godsend - I have never considered going back to film.

My six month old daughter Iris is now my number one model, though I will start looking for more wedding work when she is a little older.
