"Yan’s photography has a lot to do with creativity. And art too. I used to say him that he always presents me with an alternative vision of the world. His photos are not obvious so they may require an extra moment to analyse them. And in that extra moment he often makes you think about something that is not necessarily present in the picture. And I find that the most rewarding aspect of scattering a photo from him. As he wrote once, "the human interaction is essential". And it really is. Even when there’s no real human presence in his photo – which happens rarely – there is always a connection to that alternative side of humanity."

"y'a des matins comme ça... on se réveille, l'air de rien... juste le lien d'un ami dans sa boite mail : "regarde".
Et là, le choc, la tarte dans la gueule, le bonheur photographique. Je suis sur le stream de yanseiler™. Impossible de décrocher, pas les mots pour commenter.
Mais je suis là, je regarde, attentif et subjugué."

"I think I can quite openly say that at this moment Yan is my favourite photographer going around. His consistency is at a level that is unmatched by any other photographer I know, and his quality work is at a level I can only aim for. I'm quite honoured to be able to be in the position where we can critique each others work on TrekEarth."

"It was nice to spent some photographic moments with yanseiler during his chennai visit..he and his girlfriend shared an equal enthusiasm in knowing different areas of chennai and i admired his passion towards photography..infact instead of taking photos, i was just watching his postures, how he handles the situation during interaction with chennai people etc., ....you can learn lot of street photography tips from this guy..Thanks yanseiler for your friendship.."
