Amber Tafoya is running to be the people's representative for Colorado House District Four in north and west Denver.

Amber has devoted her life to helping others by serving as an attorney and advocate for hard working families throughout southern Colorado and metro Denver. As a daughter of a union electrician, proud Army wife, and Latina, Amber understands the struggles thousands of Coloradoans face.

Amber has played a key role in passing bills to protect victims of domestic violence including the Address Confidentiality Program now operating in the Colorado Secretary of State’s office and improvements to protection orders. She has successfully defended working families and has fought for enforceable labor protections, health care for all, and educational opportunities for our children including graduation requirements that make sense and streamlined P-20 educational objectives. Amber is a neighborhood community organizer who helped bring neighbors together during the Obama campaign. She leads a variety of community improvement efforts and has played a lead role in graffiti clean ups and the District 3 Congress. She is determined to improve our lives as Coloradoans now and in the future.

Throughout her life, Amber has displayed great determination, passion, and drive to reach her goals, from graduating a year early from high school, being the first person in her family to graduate from college, pushing through law school while spending a year in a wheel chair, and using her law license to serve families on the margins. Her work and life experience ignite the motivation in her to be a strong, effective and caring leader in our community. A voice for each of us, no matter how ignored we may feel by the political system. Amber is a voice for hope. She sees the time for change as now.

Amber Tafoya graduated from Colorado State University-Pueblo magna cum laude with a major in history and a minor in Spanish. She earned her law degree from CU School of Law. She is currently a well-respected member of the legal and non-profit community in Denver, CO. She serves on the AILA Pro Bono Committee, Colorado Women’s Lobby Board of Directors, and Colorado Latino Forum Board of Directors. She is active in the Colorado Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Denver Democrats, and the House District 4 Democrats. Amber is the proud precinct committee person for precinct 443.
