I am an amateur photographer who especially enjoys wildlife and nature photography, but occasionally explores other themes. I am moved to capture fleeting moments in nature - those split seconds when the natural world reveals some small piece of splendor that often are missed and pass too quickly. I love combining two of my primary hobbies - photography and kayaking. I am fortunate to live and work in Florida where the opportunities for nature photography are outstanding.

I use Canon equipment and am now shooting primarily with a Canon 7D and Canon 400 f5.6, 17-55 f2.8, and 100 f2.8 macro lenses. Until recently I also owned a Canon 100-400 zoom and many of the images on my photostream were taken with that. The photos on my photostream were taken using 20D, 40D, 50D, and 7D bodies. When not on terra firma, I can be found in a Current Designs Whistler kayak. In December 2010 I started using a Wintec WBT-202 GPS device to geotag my images... a nice complement to the photo gear and lots of fun getting exact locations for your images.

At times when I am not out capturing images,my time is spent as a faculty member and academic administrator at the University of Florida.
