If there is a love affair with life art is an offspring.
I'm a visually impaired fine art photographer / digital artist.
My interests in subject matter are varied. From nature to architecture and objects and their potential for abstraction, to a philosophical or conceptual perspective that explores the human condition.
My vision loss is due to a congenital form of optic atrophy. My peripheral vision is blurred (20/400 corrected) and the central vision is obscurred by a white blindspot. I use a 4x monocular to do photo editing. Phptpgraphy is more than a form of artistic expression but also a visual aide that allows me to revel in the exquisite detail that surrounds us.
If you have vision loss don't loose sight of the beauty of life. If you have lost sight of the beauty of life you are truly blind.
I have a BFA in crafts from Virginia Commonwealth Univ. '82. I had concentrated in woodworking and furniture design:

marianna - abstract again says:
"I just stumbled upon Craig's work in the "anything to do with water" Flickr group. Not knowing anything about him, my first impression was that he's teaching us to see. I wrote this knee jerk reaction on one of his recent images: "Fantastic! I love your water reflection series. Where on Earth do you see them? I feel like my eyes just opened a bit wider. wow."
I had no idea Craig has any vision issues, his work is pure magic. I've never seen water as beautiful as this. Thank you Craig."28th September, 2010

EYZWIDESHUT says:
"I LOVE this man's work! I am just going to post a comment I recenty made on one of his incredible images, and hope that sums up how I feel about his unique and spectacular pieces of art.
"This isn't just a photograph, it is art...I love the way you turn a captured image into something that is truly your own vision. It is as if you took a paint brush and palette, and used it to embelish a photograph that would otherwise be ordinary and lacking of your personal touch.
It is these types of images that I really appreciate up here because I know the time, effort and thoughtfulness that went into creating it. Of course then there is always that question...how did you do it??""16th July, 2009
