I am 56. I live in Limerick, Ireland and I don't give a stuff about Explore! I see shots all the time in Explore that I would not pick up off the ground if I found them at my feet. Whatever algorithm is at work is no substitute for educated taste, so Explore holds little interest for me. I will not get rich by being "Explored". I will not become a better photographer by being "Explored" and neither will you. OK... rant over! I just wanted to get that out of the way.

Photography for me is a wonderful window on a world I never knew in my younger years. For me, it is art, expression, therapy, and a fabulous way to meet great people from all over the world.

All of us on Flickr share an interest in the magic of the photographic image, regardless of which subject matter interests us. What a peaceful way to share, to learn and to explore our common humanity.

I love landscape photography because it taps into a real love of nature and the Earth. I prefer to concentrate on the beauty that is to be found either in wilderness landscapes or in the patterns made by farming and by natural geological forces.

Along the way, I have picked up a love of photographing birds, sport and macro photography.

All images appearing in my Photo Stream are my exclusive property, and are protected under International Copyright laws.
