My latest Buddy Icon is from our last trip to Northumberland and was actually taken by, Bev [my lovely and long suffering Wife] as we took shots of the sunset at Bamburgh Castle! I am 50 years old. A Scaffolder by trade for 27 years, I recently spent 9 months out of work and due to health problems and job availability, have now taken a job in a care home for people suffering from Senile Dementia. My spell of unemployment led to me digging out my camera, at my wife's suggestion - bless her! Having digital cameras now means I can take 20 pictures to get my "Happy shot" without the expense of processing! I've got to say that I'm so happy to have started taking pictures again - I've seen so many wonderful things and even managed to get a, half decent, shot or two! Photography has been an on-off passion over the years - I would love to leave just one decent image behind me before I die! I've been away from photography for some time but long term unemployment leaves you with a void to fill and due to the enjoyment I've gained from Flickr and all the new friends I've made whilst here, I'm definitely back to stay!
