Services for the UnderServed is a non-profit located in New York City.
Founded in 1978, SUS provides housing and support services to nearly 4,000 economically disadvantaged New Yorkers with special needs due to a mental, developmental or physical disability often compounded by homelessness, HIV/AIDS, inadequate education, substance abuse, or a history of institutionalization. SUS services include: Supporting Housing; Mental & Physical Wellness Programs; Employment Services; Education, Learning & Skill Development; Clinic Services; Care Coordination; and Family Support.
SUS employs over 1500 staff whose mission is to provide the supports necessary for these individuals to live with dignity in the community, direct their own lives, and attain personal fulfillment.
By improving their lives, SUS improves the quality of life for all who live and work in New York City.
