I want to say thank you to everyone who has bought my book....unless you tell me, I have no way of knowing who you are.

theater of the mind....

For me, photography is as much about desire as it is about memory....

My photos tell you more about me than anything I could say here. I like to view things askance as in averted vision. I consider myself an artist rather than a photographer but I have had to learn cameras as a means to an end - the cameras have taught me to see in new ways. I like imagery that I can hear: thick heels on an old hardwood floor or tiny, rhythmic clicking sounds of old time machinery and camera shutters and heavy old buildings of the early 20th century like the libraries and schools with enormous double hung windows I grew up with in rural upstate New York. I prefer ambient light coming and going - I rarely use flash.

"I became interested in photography when I found my own sketching was inadequate." - Ben Shahn

    bob merco says:

"there are a few people on flickr whose work really inspires me to go out and explore the back roads and unknown places that exist near and far. I must say that Jodi is right at the top of that list. A mundane object become a work of art in her photography. I never met her (except by phone) and I feel one day we will meet somewhere shooting photos but in the meantime I consider her a valuable friend"

"Sixtå is one of the most mysterious of our contributors. Her enigmatic photos add to her mystique. Does anyone really know who she is? What century does she live in? What country? She claims to live in contemporary New York or Colorado, but her photos belie this. Many clearly depict an evolution spanning many centuries, while others glimpse moments that never happened. Some show the flora and fauna of distant places and foreign oceans while others show situations impossible in the sublunary world.

Congratulations on being Adumbrations of the Sublunary Ethos Artist of the Week!"

" ... as if the brothers grimm had picked up cameras rather than pens: sixtå has the secret key to the sacred portal that connects objects[surrounding]mood."
