Archaeological and art-historical photography are my mainstays, but in December 2009 I began messing around with other stuff. These days I use a DSLR, mainly from sheer laziness. I also have access to an analogue SLR, though my enthusiasm for using this has reduced since the demise of its natural and wonderful partner, Kodachrome film.

I try and keep my contacts strictly limited to those whose work I find myself consistently wanting to comment on. I heartily recommend looking at the following streams; they are my current favourites and all deal with photographic subjects in unique and very creative ways:

Kroons Kollektion
Andrea Vismara
Cocogogol
Phantom Blot
Gallierina
brombromp
walkinginspace pt2..

I invariably delete comments that come with glitter graphics, large logos, girly twirly stuff, multiple invites and especially flickriver badges, which to me represent a very lazy form of self-promotion. As my friend and fellow flickerite Kroons Kollektion said, advertise yourself and your work through a constructive comment. If your stream contains pornographic material, please don't add me as a contact - it's not my kind of thing, and I will block you in order to avoid viewing it.

I am currently building my website, but in the meantime you can visit my facebook page here:

    Alberto Dati says:

"Stendhal pensava che la tomba di Cecilia Metella sulla Via Appia fosse uno dei più bei monumenti di Roma. Io penso che il photostream di caeciliametella sia uno dei più interessanti da queste parti.
La scelta del formato 1:1, le profondità di campo, la pesantezza dei colori e la pregnanza delle piccole forme fanno degli scatti di questa sconosciuta una scoperta quasi quotidiana."

    Gallierina says:

"Caeciliametella wants perfection and creates perfection. Her technical skills and her imagination allow her to create this perfection.
Apart from that she is a wonderful Flickerian, that always pay attention. More than this, she is a wonderful and a beautiful human being."

Thayer (Vacationing - On & Off) says:

"caeciliametella is one brilliant abstractionist! How she gets what she does from an image is mind blowing. I think she is a witch or a magician...or both! I always look forward to what she will come up with next, and she has a great sense of humor on top of it!"

    Art Rock (Hennie) says:

"My discovery of the year on Flickr. Her stream is a clear testimony to a creative artist with an extraordinary photographer's eye for spotting the opportunities most would never consider. Her abstracts are amongst the best I have ever seen, often delightful studies in minimalism., Suffice it to say that over the past few weeks 20% of the shots I faved were by this lady alone."

"caeciliametella's photstream is by far one of the most exquisite & creative streams on flickr. I visit her stream for my daily inspiration & reflection. Her images are always innovative and timeless. There's always something to glean on every time you view them. She's pure art & one of the most generous artists you'll ever find."
