I live in Arizona. It is an exciting place to live for someone interested in Natural history. There are all kinds of habitats nearby from dry tropical forest (south at Alamos Mexico) to tundra (on summit of the San Fransisco Peaks). Also 3 of the World's diversity hotspots are within the same distance: The Madrean Pine-Oak Woodlands (Madrea Canyon) , the California Floristic Province (in California of course) and the Mesoamerica tropical forests (in Almos).

Of course the desert around is fabulous in its own right. It has many cactus species and a huge diversity of plants in general.
