First, I want to say that any and all progress I have made in the past year is strictly and completely due to my son Neil who also has a Flickr account and is a professional photographer as a hobby. He's awesome.
He has encouraged me, critiqued me, bought me a close-up lens, showed me how to use it and persuaded me to start to learn AND use manual settings for a more satisfying photo. I can't thank him enough and I am always willing to learn from him.
I have a Nikon D40 DSLR with an 18-200 lens, a 50mm lens as well as a close up lens for my flower and insects.
When I gain more experience in learning manual settings (just got started) I will upgrade to a Nikon D-300. Right now, I have all I can handle with what I have. :-)
