The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) is a student-centered community of learners.

* HSS is the largest of the six schools, its offices and classrooms both surround and extend across the entire College of Charleston campus.
* HSS is well known for the quality of its academics.
* In addition to the large number of programs already offered, the school continues to add new majors and courses of study to its curriculum.
* Each year, HSS professors and graduates publish a number of books, research papers and scholarly articles, many of which receive national and international recognition.
