My name is Rachel (Pickel Vision to those who are attracted first by a catchy name) and I’ve lived in a multiple of states, but currently find myself submersed in the rich culture of the South.

Photography has been a lifelong passion of mine. (Wow! I say that like I’m old :P) I've had a camera as far back as I can remember my 110 relic. Although I have to remark I like film, but love the instant gratification of digital! :D Currently, I’m snapping pictures with a Sony Cybershot and aspiring to own a Nikon D90. :D

I carry my camera in my purse, always in pursuit of something interesting to shoot. I get fascinated by all sorts of media and settings and love to learn new ways of expressing myself through pictures. I snap pictures of anything and everything. My photostream is a random mix of creative, artsy, snapshots, and family pictures, so you might have to dig to find the more “professional” ones. I think the candid shots are some of my favorites and make for the most moving photos.

Flickr has been a great site to obtain feed back and I enjoy sharing what I find interesting through my lens. Especially, when I travel to distant and not so distant places!

Traveling is my second obsession! I hope to make a career of it when I become a traveling nurse accepting assignments around the United States. My goal is to set foot in all 7 continents and visit all 50 states of the United States of America. For now I’m stationary, satisfied with the familiar scenery of the South, which is beautiful!

Next fall I plan to go back to school, possibly minor in photography, master the art of bringing a smile across someone’s face, or a laugh to the heart, even tears to the eyes! In the meantime though, I’ll work off the comments and critiques admirers might leave on my photos!

A picture can say a thousand words, hold a hundred memories, and touch the most weathered of hearts! :D If I have done any of those three things, then I've accomplished my goal. :)
