I am an American married to a Japanese and have lived in Japan for more than 30 years. My photos reflect the love and respect that I have for both Western and Eastern cultures.

I started taking photographs in the era when each and every photo needed to be well thought out before snapping the shutter and then waiting to see the results of any roll could take a week or years depending on how quickly things were sent off to be developed. A bad hair day could ruin an otherwise great background scene and more than a time or two I binned a fairly good shot but for a camera strap flapping into the scene. The digital era opened up a whole new world of photography for me and I love the ability to edit and snap as many angles as I'd like before selecting what to keep and what to delete.

I enjoy taking a variety of photos from landscapes to thought-out interior scenes. Flickr has brought a broad vista of ideas to me and I learn so much from viewing the photos of others. I am humbled by the incredible shots that I stumble upon. So, I continue to experiment with different ideas as I learn to use my digital camera.

It was while experimenting with different camera settings and angles that I discovered how much I actually enjoy setting up and taking interior shots. But, I do have a disclaimer: This home does have a man who in reality very much lends a "lived in look" to the place. I just post the shots of how I'd like things to be!
