BIOGRAFIA

Luis Augusto Vegas Vicentini, artista, nacido el 15 de agosto de 1976 en Caracas, Venezuela. Luis inició su pasión por el arte desde muy temprana edad, específicamente con las artes plásticas gracias a la tutela de Corina Vicentini de Vegas, su madre, artista natural, especializada en dibujo y pintura, que vio en su hijo ese mismo afán por las artes que ella poseía.

Artista que escubre su pasión por la fotografía 35mm para el año 1993 cuando cursaba cuarto año de bachillerato. Ese verano, en vez de optar por vacacionar como sus demás compañeros de aulas, escogió hacer una pasantía de verano en Fischer Grey Advertising, donde bajo la tutela del personal del departamento de producción audiovisual empezó a enfocar la vida a través de su cámara Canon A-1. Durante los dos próximos años se convence que su futuro iba a estar relacionado con la fotografía y la carrera publicitaria sin duda alguna.

En 1994 cursa la carrera Administración de Empresas de Diseño Gráfico, carrera que no cumplió con sus expectativas personales por consecuencia haciendo que aplicara para estudiar y concretar un título de Barchelor Of Fine Arts In Visual And Media Arts en Emerson College, U.S.A. Durante sus años en Estados Unidos, Luis estuvo capturando su mundo a través de varias cámaras, Canon A-1, Nikon N2020 y Pentax P3. Su enfoque durante éstos años era exclusivamente en fotografía 35mm en blanco y negro, encuadres abstractos, retratos y arquitectura.

Inmediatamente al regresar a su país Luis empieza lo que ya hoy es una larga trayectoria en publicidad que supera una década de experiencia profesional, habiendo trabajado en algunas de las más importantes agencias de publicidad de la nación y sus respectivos clientes. Durante éste período de su vida, Luis trabajó como productor audiovisual y ejecutivo, trabajando en más de 200 producciones entre comerciales para TV, cuñas de radio, eventos y producciones gráficas, en ésta última, Luis estuvo trabajando mano a mano con algunos de los fotógrafos mas representativos e importantes en el medio nacional, logrando siempre estar cerca de la fotografía y el ambiente general de sus producciones. A su vez, durante éstos años, Luis siguió capturando en 35mm y luego adaptándose a la fotografía digital en el mundo a través de sus viajes y viviencias como también emprendiendo algunos proyectos profesionales, entre esos las fotografías para la imagen publicitaria de una reconocida orfebre caraqueña.

Para mayo del año 2009 Luis decide de una vez por todas regresar a aquella pasión que desde joven siempre le ha causado tanta alegría y satisfacción personal. Desde entonces y hasta la fecha continua actualizándose en todas las técnicas como tendencias de avanzada en ésta nueva era digital que envuelve a la fotografía moderna. A su vez está ejerciendo una carrera activa en fotografía publicitaria que ha rendido como fruto el trabajar con clientes de alto reconocimiento en la industria, así complementando cada vez más su portafolio profesional.

Luis no solo está activo en la busqueda de aquella captura impecable, sino también, que la misma transmita un mensaje o una historia interesante al observador.

BIOGRAPHY

Luis Augusto Vegas Vicentini, venezuelan artist, born August 15th 1976.

Luis began his quest in the arts from a very early age, specifically with design and painting, introduced and tutored by his mother Corina Vicentini de Vegas, a natural born artist who saw in her son that same passion for the arts that she had.

In 1993, during his junior year of high school, Luis discovered his passion for 35mm film photography. During that summer, instead of traveling like all of his classmates, he chose to do a summer internship at Fischer Grey Advertising, where his co-workers and mentors inspired him to focus life through his Canon A-1 camera. During his senior years in high school he was convinced that he would dedicate his days to photography and advertising.

In 1994 he began studying Graphic Design Company Management at a local college, a career that did not fulfill his expectations leading him to apply for a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts and Media Arts in the United States. During his years in the U.S. Luis managed to capture his surroundings through various 35mm film cameras, Canon A-1, Nikon N2020 and Pentax P-3. His photography was focused mainly in B&W abstracts, portraits and architecture.

As soon as Luis returned to Caracas, he began working in what is now a long career in marketing and advertising, career that nowadays surpasses over thirteen years of professional experience while having worked in some of Venezuela´s most important advertising agencies. During this period, Luis worked as an executive producer in over two hundred productions including TV commercials, radio spots, events and photographic shoots. He managed to work alongside some of the best photographers his country had to offer, allowing him to soak in all the knowledge and techniques available on each set. At the same time, Luis continued to capture his surroundings in 35mm film and by time adapting to the new digital technologies, photographing people, friends and places in every trip and every experience that life threw at him, also worked some professional photography projects like a photo shoot for a close friend and renown local artist.

In May 2009 Luis decided once and for all to go back to his roots and dedicate his time fully to photography, he's currently managing different projects like also working on improving advanced photographic skills and post production techniques that dominate every more so this profession in a digital era.

Luis is constantly working on capturing that impeccable image, that one that tells a interesting message or story to the observer.
