Photography is my avocation, while my vocation is psychiatry, thus the handle "shrink" steve. I have been taking pictures for many years, but have become enamored with nature photography since going digital in 2005. I am now on my third DSLR, a Pentax K7, by far the best camera I have ever held in my hands. With it, and with my son, and occasionally my daughter, in tow, I now chase around fields, forests, lakes, and rivers, after birds, butterflies, and other wild things. I am now a juried member of the Allied Artists of West Virginia, an artists association dedicated to helping artists grow, and connecting artists across the state. As of 11/16/10 my photography has passed the jury process so I can contribute to shows in the fine art gallery at Tamarack. Tamarack, "The Best of WV" is a place where artisans from all over WV display and sell their crafts and artwork. Anyone displaying work for sale at Tamarack has been through a rigorous jurying process. All contributors are West Virginia artisans. If you are ever traveling through Beckley WV on the WV State Turnpike, be sure and stop at Tamarack!
