The Shjon Podein Children’s Foundation (aka: Team 25) is a 501c3 nonprofit started by Shjon and Sherry Podein in 1997. Shjon, a native of Rochester, MN, is a 14 year veteran of the NHL with career highlights including winning the Stanley Cup in 2001 with the Colorado Avalanche and being awarded the King Clancy Cup that same year for his service to humanity off-ice. The mission of the Shjon Podein Children’s Foundation is to improve the quality of life and create an environment of caring and community support for children facing extraordinary difficulties in their lives. The children, their families, our board and volunteers, sponsors, and celebrities all work together in our efforts to accomplish this mission and together we are TEAM 25.
