Norwegian of birth, Canadian at heart, American through marriage, and eternally devoted to my lovely wife Mary and our wonderful two dogs Walker and Scarlett. My passion for wildlife, nature, and conservation has guided me through life and led me to where I am today. In my pursuit of a career in avian research I study the genetics and molecular systematics of New World orioles. The ability to share my nature adventures with the world through flickr makes my hobby as an amateur wildlife photographer so much more enjoyable.
