Life is fluid; it's defined by its relentless motion and its ever-changing state. But I think nothing more profoundly captures the essence of life than moments of it frozen in time.

I grew up with a camera in my hand. Whether it was an old Polaroid or a cheap 110 cartridge throw-away, I was always eager to get behind a lens and document what I saw. College brought me into the world of 35mm film and SLR cameras and brought out both my technical and latent artistic capabilities, setting me down the path of becoming a passionate photographer. I was a fairly early adopter of digital SLR photography, first transitioning full-time to the format in 2002. Today, I'm rarely without either my dSLR kit or an advanced digital point-and-shoot.

My subject matter is broad, but I am particularly interested in street photography, portraiture, abstract interpretations, and animals. I try to capture complex stories in a fragment of second that can hopefully evoke a myriad of interpretations dependent on the point of view of the observer.

When it comes down to it, though, I really just like making pictures that people like to look at.
