Photography is my favorite hobby, although I admit to being a mostly self-taught amateur. As a good friend of mine says, photography is an investment in my happiness. I welcome and appreciate any comments, feedback, and well-meaning suggestions for improvement. I always get excited when people leave comments for me :-)

I am eager to learn more about how to better my photography skills and expand my creativity. I enjoy nature and animal photography, and I like to play with light and shadows. Although I use Picasa to edit my pictures, I do very little in the way of post-production. I prefer photos that are naturally beautiful and well-composed.

My philosophy toward photography is that anyone with a digital camera and a working knowledge of Photoshop can create really good, professional-looking pictures, but only a few have the creativity and talent to tell a story or evoke an emotion. That's the kind of photographer I want to be.
