I've really got back into photography over the last 2-3 years and so joined Flickr to get some inspiration and feedback. I've learnt loads from looking at other people's photos, looking at the EXIF data, then reading up on the techniques they've used.

Located near Chepstow, SE Wales, UK.

Like HDR of urbex / rusty / crusty. Trying to get into strobist stuff and have just invested in some wireless triggers and an SB-25 speedlight.

I have 10 lovely lovely chickens.

Cameras

I currently use a Nikon D5000
Wireless triggers - Yongnuo RF603(N)
Speedlight - Nikon SB-25

I'm was a superzoom fan, I've just sold my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 (aka FZ35). This replaced my Fuji S6500fd, which replaced a Fuji S7000. I like superzooms as they are so versatile, light, small, they've always got the right lens on so no need to carry and mess about with lots of lenses, missing photo opportunities.

I have also used a Lomo Lubitel 166 TLR and a Minolta X-500 35mm SLR and developed the film (not entirely successfully) at home.

Software

I currently use Windows Live Photo Gallery to import, manage and tag my photos (and to upload to Flickr and Facebook).

For post-processing I used Photoshop CS2 and for HDR PhotomatixPro 3.2. For occasional extra noise reduction requirements I use Noiseware Community Edition.

Exhibitions

Update Mar 2011 - After entering my first ever exhibition, the Royal West of England Academy's "Open Photography 2" exhibition ( www.rwa.org.uk/curpro.htm ) I had one of my four entries accepted, and heard last week that a visitor to the exhibition has bought my piece!! (At least that will go some way to paying for my D5000!)

Blog

Update Mar 2011 - Partly inspired by joining the modern world again and getting a smartphone (Samsung Apollo, running Android), I have now also started a BlipFoto photo blog (where you are only allowed to upload one photo per day), find it here www.BlipFoto.com/DoSomething

PLEASE NOTE: I will block anyone that is favouriting my photos while looking like they are not a genuine Flickr contributor. My photos are available for commercial use if you are willing to pay for them, otherwise you will be in breach of my copyright.
