This site is part photo journal and part personal archive.

As of April 2011, I've had the site for two years and uploaded only a couple of hundred pictures from an archive of thousands (just lack of time, I do enjoy flickr). I had intended to build a disciplined photographic consideration of my home city of Sheffield, but in the event they reflect my untidy nature and life, different places, different times, different subjects...

So, in the interest of imposing some sort of order on the site, if not myself, I've deleted the existing sets and just have those that contain, or are likely to contain, a reasonable number of images. I think most people search by tags in any case.

Anyone interested in the history of Sheffield as told in photographs should visit the Local Studies website at www.picturesheffield.co.uk which offers endless fascination (and inspiration to get out there with a camera)
