I'm Kim, I'm 21, a graduate of Film, and I have a big passion for photography.
I perhaps have a long way to go before I can call myself a talented photographer, but I am enjoying learning new things and love seeing the improvements I've made so far.
I have just become the owner of my first dSLR - a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT! Previously I was using a point and shoot, so I feel like a beginner all over again, but I am enjoying having more technical control over what I shoot.
I am a firm believer that it is the person behind the camera, rather than the camera itself that takes a good photo.
Sometimes I like to go for natural photography with little or no editing. Other times I'll go for some subtle editing. I like black and white photos, although I don't shoot in b&w - I edit afterwards. I also like HDR shots, and realise that it is an acquired taste. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I have Photoshop CS4 and HDRSoft Photomatix, but more often I just use iPhoto or Flickr's built-in Picnik to do some basic contrast/tone editing.
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to leave me comments and feedback! I love receiving comments and constructive criticism is very helpful to me in improving my techniques.
