I'm an economist, husband and father. I teach economics and Russian at the Louisiana Scholars' College, the designated honors college for the Louisiana state university system. All pictures here were taken by me, unless I'm in the picture. The older pictures were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4500. I loved that camera, but I finally wanted to go beyond 4 megapixels and make some large prints. I'm currently using a Canon EOS 50D, but it's sort of like putting a top-of-the-line Viking gas range in the hands of a man who only knows how to microwave frozen burritos. Some practice will be required before the results are more than passable.

Most of my pictures are taken with a Tamron zoom lens, but I really like macro photography and recently bought a Canon 100mm IS USM macro lens. I'll buy other lenses eventually, but those will have to do for now.
