Grace House North East Children's Hospice Appeal's photostream

There are estimated to be over 1000 families in the North East region caring for a child who is not expected to live to be an adult. At present the North East has the lowest number of hospice beds for children in the whole country.

The need for 24-hour care can be an exhausting and lonely existence. Day to day living, family life, holidays and outings are restricted. Family relationships can crumble under the strain.

Grace House will provide respite and end of life care for children with progressive, life-limiting conditions as well as support and friendship for the whole family.

The hospice will be a bright, vibrant and positive place, where the emphasis will be on the living of life to the full, even when that life may be all to short.
