I am an independent photographer based in Helsinki and Shanghai. I have studied architecture and photography at RISD and Helsinki University of Technology. In 2009 I left my 10-year career in architecture devoting to photography full time.
"I find big cities enticing, the diversity of urban life thrills me. The imperfection and inequality are constantly present and perhaps more apparent than in rural areas. Life in a city is not good or bad, purely social or lonely, beautiful or unattractive. It possesses all these attributes; it is the contradictions and complexity that makes the cities worth exploring. Unexpected events often take place in urban settings – taking photographs is expecting the unexpected."
