To empower young Rwandan women with the knowledge and skills to find meaningful employment in a rapidly developing Rwanda, to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
Project Akilah (Swahili for “intelligent one who reasons”) matches the needs of a growing Rwandan economy with well trained, technically savvy women eager to contribute to Rwanda's future.
By building a vocational and technical training institute for Rwandan women who do not have the resources to continue their studies in a formal university setting, Project Akilah is bridging a critical educational gap in Rwanda.
