I welcome all comments, notes and suggestions for improvements to my photographs :)

I have been learning about digital photography since 2003 when I bought my first camera, a Fujifilm FinePix S7000, the camera used for all my pictures dated before July 2005. I hadn't owned a SLR or digital camera before and this was an excellent camera on which to learn the basics of these photography techniques. The picture quality was great, especially in macro mode but it was a battery juice guzzler!

Since then I have used a Nikon Coolpix 8700 which I am still learning my way around.

I haven't used any extra lenses to take my photographs so far. I don't even have a tripod!

I find looking at other people's photos on Flickr really interesting and inspiring and I love the wonderful warmth and support Flickr commmunity members show to each other.

I particularly enjoy nature photography but I hope to be able to branch out into some other areas as I gain confidence and ability.

I also enjoy taking and sharing family pictures but I keep those marked just for family and friends.

P.S. By the way, a few people have asked if my name tag is connected to Leonard Cohen's poem 'Suzanne' who

"....takes you down to her place near the river
You can hear the boats go by
You can spend the night beside her
And you know that she's half crazy
But that's why you want to be there. ... "

It is! My parents named me after this poem/song as it was a favourite of theirs.
