Hi, I'm Onno Knuvers. I love to illustrate and animate things, to create new characters and worlds for them to inhabit.

After graduating art school I started working in an animation studio producing work for clients like Disney, Nelvana and Warner Bros. After the studio closed I decided to pursue a freelance career, which I’ve been doing happily for the last 9 years. It’s great; I get to work with a bunch of interesting clients and also I get to wear my favourite Homer pyjamas all day.

Since then I have worked with clients on a wide variety of projects providing a range of illustration, character design and animation services. Recently I illustrated two children’s picture books “Out in Space” and “Dinosaur Day” for Scholastic, and animated two very short films for the Toronto Animated Image Society. I also had the amazing experience to develop and produce a range of limited edition plush toys for Chocolate Log Industries. My work has been exhibited around the world including Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and in the US, including with Gallery 1988.

I was born in the Netherlands but grew up in New Zealand, where I spent a lot of time drawing, playing with Lego and watching classic 80′s Saturday morning cartoons. I currently live in Melbourne with my lovely wife Sylvia and our invisible pet beagle.
