Surf the internet. Watch pro wrestling (WWE, TNA, Dragon Gate, ROH on YouTube). Drink beer, have shots and eat pizza. Dance at nightclubs and concerts.
And of course, Shop at Ala Moana and at every mall on the island (that also would include the neighbor islands as well). I really want to check out the Mall of the Americas in Mini-SO-ta (Minnesota) and Edmonton Mall in Canada. That would be freakin' awesome, eh !
Listen to rap/dance/reggae/Hawaiian/alternative/r and b/top 40 music. Except for Country, with the exception of Shania Twain, LeeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift, etc. Okay maybe not Taylor Swift. Michael Jackson, not Prince, is the King of Pop 4 Ever -- sorry Elvis (Presley). R.I.P.
And yes, play video games (the GTA series, I love the music: esp. in Vice City and San Andreas. IV looks awesome, but I haven't bought a PS3, Nintento Wii or XBOX360 yet).
Buy gadgets like Flip Video -- my grandfather wanted to buy
me one of the first stereo systems that had a CD player (along with a dual cassette tape deck and vinyl record turntable.) I'm really dating myself here.
Three of my main goals in life (if I take a trip to the US mainland) are: no.1: to check out the annual CES show in Las Vegas, Nevada. I would go nuts ! no.2: swim in the infamous grotto at Hugh Hefner's PlayBoy mansion. I will be in nirvana, baby ! no.3: Travel to Italy (the Louvre), France (the Coliseum where Russell Crowe was the Gladiator), Spain (Ibiza island), Amsterdam (to "drink" coffee and talk to high class sophisticated women, standing in windows), Mexico (the Aztec vatos rule in Cancun, ese !), Germany (wear lederhosen and drink beer in the annual Oktoberfest), Greece (Big Ben) and England (the Parthenon, pet the Lochness Monster and push down the Stonehenge rocks like dominoes).
Voted in 2008, unlike 2004 - I'm a Donkey (D) not an Elephant (R). Barrack Obama -- local boy from the Kailua area.
Unlike the new president, who graduated from a coed private (Punahou) high school, I graduated from an all-boys Catholic school (like St. Louis, Maryknoll High School, Sacred Hearts Academy, St. Francis School, La Pietra, St. Andrews' Priory). Okay the latter 4 schools are all-girls' schools. The only time we had girls in our school was at the (junior and senior) proms and sports pep rally in the (school) gym. For fundraisers, I remember selling Christmas trees and huli huli chicken.
Back then, there was Farrington (public) high school (which was coed). Am I gay - no way, jose. I even don't consider myself Catholic.
I love girl scout cookies. What about the boy scouts ? What do they sell ? I don't know.
Under the Chinese annual calendar horoscope, I was born in the year of the Ox, not Tiger (although I love pussy cats).
Yes, I'm a Capricorn.
I was born in the 70's; i am a product of the 80's, but grew up in the 90's. From Disco (Donna Summer or the Village People (YMCA) to grunge (alternative rock - think Nirvana).
I love mobster movies (Scarface, Blow, the Departed, Donnie Brasco, Carlito's Way, the Godfather series, GoodFellas), the Sopranos tv series, action/adventure movies, sci fi series (Star Wars), comedies (the Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Gremlins, Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles, the Goonies), drama (Rocky series), etc. Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro are awesome (in Heat and now Righteous Kill).
Fascinated with the CSI (New York and Miami) series. I remember watching Miami Vice and Magnum P.I. back in the 1980's. Love the Cocaine Cowboys documentaries...
I just saw Slumdog Millionaire. Good movie (It was an Oscar winning flick). It won 8 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. I still want to see the Sean Penn movie "Milk" about a gay politician in San Francisco.
I love those crazy Judd Apatow comedies with Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and other funny people: the 40 Year Old Virgin (Steve Carell), Accepted, Knocked Up, Superbad, Strange Wilderness, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Pineapple Express and now, Observe and Report. "The Hangover" sucked hard.
Role Models (I still haven't seen it yet.) The one with Seann William Scott, Paul Rudd and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (from Super Bad). McLovin' himself.
Jim Carrey - brilliant mind. Robin Williams - ADD, he can never keep still. Great impressionist.
The hilarious Harold and Kumar series, with Kal Penn and John Cho (of new Star Trek movie), are great with Doogie Howser (Neil Patrick Harris). I loved him in Undercover Brother (with Dave Chapelle and Eddie Griffin). Chapelle is a genius with his old Comedy Central show; also starred in Half Baked with former SNL guy Jim Breuer.
Love Lisa Lampanelli on those Comedy Central Roasts (Flavor Flav, Larry the Cable Guy, William Shatner, Hugh Hefner, Pamela Anderson Lee). She's Don Rickles' illegitimate and forgotten daughter.
