Family: Blood, married, adopted.. somehow they're family.
Friend: They're a friend in the traditional sense of the term, we've met in person OR have been in contact enough that they're are no longer just some random stranger to me anymore.
Contact: They're on Flickr and so am I. We like each others photos enough to mark each other as a Contact, but other than comments on photos via Flickr, we're still strangers. Maybe someday we will be friends. Or.. maybe I just marked you as a contact because I like some of your photos.
