lorenzodom says:
"An alliterative genius, Ryan can write-up a wise-cracking, witty title for his photos within ten seconds flat. And his fotos are pretty phat too!
From models to mugs, to colors on drugs, he demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and a level of quality that is hard to match.
Moreover, the guy is a fricken Nikon-Nikkor freakaholic, and it looks like he’s used every lens ever made. So, watch out, ‘cause he can “…outshoot you, out run you, out think you…” as Max Cady might say.
Lorenzo!

the half-blood prince says:
"i've been following ryan's photostream for the past few years, and i'm really glad to call him my number one inspiration in the wedding photography category. his work is unparalleled. i've never seen anyone take such a photojournalistic stance at shooting wedding photography, and everyone who has tried has fallen short of ryan (no offense). ryan's stream is one of my favorites to visit on flickr because it is constantly inventive and always impressive. it's easy to see that he does a great job as a wedding photographer--i've done photo shoots in the past, and it's truly a task to make people feel comfortable if you don't know them--ryan's couples always seem natural in front of the lens, which leads me to believe that he's a smooth talker.
in addition, ryan is a master of strobing. like, seriously. i've never seen someone in the wedding photography biz as effective and creative with lighting as ryan is, and it is a true testament to his number one spot in the field. ryan, your work is amazing. i hope to one day be as knowledgeable about strobing and wedding photography as you are. keep up the good work!"5th August, 2009

"When I first joined Flickr and had this crazy idea that I wanted to be a pro wedding photographer, I ran across a fantastic Trash the Dress photo by some cool dude named Ryan Brenizer. Since then, I have been wildly obsessed with his work. He inspires me constantly to be unique and crazy and cool....plus, he's just a nice guy. Anyone who can snag him for their wedding is pretty dang lucky."

"I can't believe I haven't written a testimonial for Ryan yet.
Ryan is one of my oldest Flickr friends dating back to good ole days of 2004 when Flickr still had shiny new floors. I have had the pleasure of watching this photographer grow and develop into the true professional that he is today. What a great trip it has been!
I had the distinct pleasure of having Ryan photograph my son's wedding rehearsal, dinner party, ceremony and reception throughout a full day and a half. I could not be happier! Not only did he photograph for hours and hours on end, but he shared what he shot, as he shot, through the use of his computer running a slideshow set up for people to see. What a terrific addition to the event. People were able to share the memories almost as soon as they were being made. From what I have seen of those presentations, I cannot wait to see all the photos from the weekend. I'm so excited!
If you are looking for someone to shoot an event for you, I can honestly say that you could not hire anyone better than Ryan! He is a top notch professional and I truly enjoyed having him included in our special weekend!
Thank you Ryan!"8th September, 2008

I dont speak english, or at least I do not dare to use it, but your photos of wedding seem to me to be really incredible. I'm photographer years being employed at press, and now I go a time doing photos in wedding. I must say to you that your work dignifies this kind of photography that great people do not value. Bobby Alcott says:
"Yes, Ryan needs another testimonial like he needs a hole in the head. I would be remiss, however, to not shout out loud how inspirational his work has been to me and my career, albeit maddening...
Why? Because all the technology in the world can't give you the ability to bring out that special quality in people, especially when they're looking down the barrel of a lens. Ryan's portraits portray a special intimacy with his subjects, and it's an ability you're either born with or not. I'm not sure if I have it, but I can damn well tell you that he does. His framing and composition is second to none, and gives you the impression that he was just in the right place at the right time (which most of us know is the hardest thing to accomplish consistently). And yes, he allows you peer into the soul of the one he's introducing you to. And that, after all the schooling and books and techniques and seminars, is what separates the best from the rest.
Thanks for sharing your work with us, Ryan. It's our pleasure."5th March, 2008

"I first me him at the "Blink of an Eye' event, and then at a couple of NYC Flickr meet-ups, but I was a fan long before that... I have been a fan of Ryan's work for... well, it seems like ages!
I have since had the pleasure of having him shoot events for the magazines I work for, and his work is nothing less than astonishing!
I've learned so much form trying to deconstruct his photos, all the information he imparts in his photostream, and now, directly through his Amazon blog. Don't forget to check out his website at www.ryanbrenizer.com
Dude, you rock! You are so freaking good!"1st March, 2008

"Many of Ryan's shots are in my favourites. For good reasons! He has consummate skill at composing, exposing and just plain nailing a shot. Always on the look out for something unusual and will pull something magical out of even the most mundane subjects. Simply skilled beyond belief!"

"for a good time in new york, call.....
so I've sat here for 10 minutes now thinking of what to say. Simply put, he's a great photographer that knows what he's talking about. He's easy to talk to and not stuck up for being a "big flickr" photographer. Ryan took time out of his schedule and showed me the true city life in new york city and it worth every penny that the burger and beer cost me.
Ryan, if your ever in Grand Rapids, let me know, I'll show you around my neck of the woods."13th September, 2007

"I just wanted to thank Ryan for always responding to me when I had a Nikon question. Since my purchase of the D200 he has always been generous and sincere with his advice and I thank him for that. Some would laugh and ignore those who are beginning their "professional" journey with photography. Ryan is always willing to share his knowledge, especially to newbies as myself. Ryan, because of your patience and generosity, your photography career continues to flourish! I am grateful for all that you share with us!!!"

"I have learned a lot from his work. For me, he is the kind of photographer that enjoys life and photography and you can tell that from his work. I always enjoy exploring his work and I feel honored by his presence on this virtual space."

"Ryan is a stunning and superb photo artist - and I'm sure you'll agree to that assessment as soon as you view his photostream.
What you may not know about this gentleman is that he is also a generous member of the Flickr community ... one who takes time to comment and view other's images on a regular basis. He is also very active in the community and shares his knowledge of photography often with newcomers and seasoned pros alike.
Flickr is a better place because of Ryan, and I'm proud to be able to call him a friend...."27th December, 2006

Josh Mitchell | Continuum Photography says:
"Back in 'Nam Ryan just seemed like any of those other annoying journalists, always pointing a camera in our faces. But when the NVA shot our chopper down and I pulled him out of the wreckage I realized how important it was that the photos got back to the world. It was that day that I gave up my M16 and replaced it with a Nikon."

"When I'm looking for new ideas, I turn to Ryan's work. His creativity never ceases to amaze me. Frankly, I wonder if he ever sleeps. As for my attempts to apply what I learn from him, that's another story completely...
If this were a competition, I'd be green with envy. But Flickr, in its purest sense, is about sharing and learning. These are the areas where Ryan make his greatest contributions."8th December, 2005

Wysz says:
"I had only been using my Flickr account for about a week when some Tom Hanks look-alike commented on one of my photos. His comment alluded to something that could only be found in my EXIF data, which tells you something about his attention to detail. I read about his mugging and have been following his photostream ever since. I finally decided to get around to writing a testimonial for him today, after my first experience of shooting a model for one of my films (the 16mm moving variety). It wasn't an easy shoot.
While I am terrified of photographing people, this is where carpeicthus really shines, which could explain why I find his photography so fascinating. Even with event photography, he goes out shooting like an artist, not a hunter. Or perhaps he is a hybrid artist-hunter, as his trigger finger manages to capture that "decisive moment" as soon as it appears in the viewfinder. His photography is so incredible, that if I had the money, I would create an event specifically for the purpose of hiring carpeicthus as the photographer. He's that good."3rd December, 2005

Nils Windisch says:
"he kind of does everything, sport, portrait, landscape, macro, architecture and and and, so
i really enjoy Ryan's stream as there are always nice photos, but more than that i like to say "thank you" for all the helpful advice and information by Ryan in the Nikon D70 Users group.
Ryan seems to be one of the more professional of us, but that doesn't makes him fly high - he's always nice and helpful."4th December, 2005
-
Ranj Niere says:
"Carpeicthus catches more than fish. His ability to produce exceptional journalism does not interfere with his aesthetic sensitivity.
In short, he seems to be able to capture almost anything with a camera. His photos can breathe fresh excitement even into subjects that have been trodden into the dirt by the boots of other photographers.
I engage his work with constant pleasure and surprise. Don't stop using this gift, Carpeicthus, it is too fine to waste."29th November, 2005

Baby Dove says:
"I am an actress and model, and have modeled for Ryan on two different occasions. The first shoot was primarily for standard headshots/portraits. It went extremely well. The second shoot was highly experimental, shooting outdoors, at night, with virtually no light, and somehow he still managed to get several quality shots from that (I swear, he could get a photo to turn out with nothing but a candle two blocks away). He has mad crazy photo skillz, yo. word. ;)"

"Can you imagine being paid to take photos of anything you wish? He's doing this now, from his university base to New York City. Lots of fun with the quickest of captures, and oh yes, stunning blondes, photo-documentary, most of people in their best moments. Then there is his black eye..."
