I studied photography and graphic arts for my BA in London. I had grown up with a father obsessed with family slide (transparency) shows and can't remember a time when I didn't have a camera on family or school trips.

At college I bought my first SLR, a Pentax and was very loyal to it. I briefly had a studio with a friend and taking one wedding was enough to let me know that I didn't want to do that!

Through a contact I started a brief career as a sports shooter - mainly publicity headshots that got used on TV shows. Sadly my Pentax gear was stolen in 1982 and it was a couple of years before I bought another good camera. It was one of the first Canon AE1 Program's.

By then my career had moved in different directions and I became a hobby photographer only.

I still have the Canon and its a great workhorse. Last year I bought a Minolta DiMage 7Hi and am pretty impressed with this mid level digital camera.

A pro friend who had overbooked herself made me break the promise to myself of 25 years and I shot a wedding last year. Not too bad.... but definitely not something I want to do full time.

Light has always fascinated me in photogrpahy and is of course the key to a good composition.

But I'm just having fun!
