Hi I’m Alex, twenty-something, an online-English teacher (although my skills in that area are highly questionable) based in QC, Philippines. Teaching is not really something I pictured myself doing but somehow like being a character in a stupid teleserye I ended up in this field (destiny?) and enjoyed it. Take note, enjoyed, past tense. I took up computer science in one of the diploma milling schools here in the third world, I took it out of impulse, one of the wrong moves I did in this game of life since my math ability is just fictional, and that major is 100% arithmetic. Do the math…

Eons of years ago I was confused of what I wanted to do so I hopped from one job to another. I worked for the largest telecoms company here but I resigned after one of the supervisors and I fought and she fainted in the middle of the office. Afraid! Most of the jobs I did were office based, but for me they didn’t really have any difference with a slammer. Oh yeah! I also once worked as gulaman vendor, no kidding! But I don’t wanna elaborate that. Then I became a call center agent for IBM too , yeah I liked it there, I met amazing amazing people but the sched, killer night shift of 10pm -6am got better of me. That triggered my asthma to be back so I quit. Then one day I just found myself teaching English to Koreans. 2.5 years have passed and I’m still here., I even took some units in Education in UP (it’s still an unfinished business) ‘coz I was that serious in it.

It’s not so bad, I mean I earn moolah enough for the lifestyle I want, it just gets a little boring though. Good thing these days I have this newfound love affair with Charlie (my Nikon slr). This new photography thing for me is like the first rain after a long hellacious summer, it doused away my ennui from work. I realized I just needed a creative outlet, but then photowalk/photoshoot weekends are soooo much fun I’m having withdrawal symptoms when it’s about time to go back to work.

Why am I loving it so much? Because somehow, it made me see the beauty in everything again. Seeing it and capturing it. They became more than just pictures they’re pieces of memories painted with lights immortalized. It’s magical.

So there. Enough of the blah, I made this blog as another ‘outle’t and document how I’d develop my photography skills. Hope you enjoy this blog.
