Well, after a long hard bit of soul searching, I finally decided to retire my old faithful Nikon FE2 film camera and (splashing out a lot of money) decided to go Digital. Wow! Suddenly and without much pain at all, my interest in Photography came rushing back to hit me square between the eyes. (or was that just adjusting to a new viewfinder)
I went for a Canon this time, a 40D and with some trial and error I have to say I,m enjoying the changeover. Although coming home and sitting down to troll through a couple of hundred shots on the computer can be a pain in the arse at times (literally)
After a few months of collecting some fine shots (excuse the ego trip here) I ran into a lovely lady at the Jerrabomberra Wetlands and she told me about "Flickr". well, a red rag to a bull really. I had to check this out.
What a discovery. Fantastic. Here I am world!
I spent a lot of time checking out the local snappers and twitchers and there is some great work out there, freely accessible to view and enjoy. So, without further ado, time to get snapping. Hope to see you out there :-)

Time to update the profile a bit:
Well, its now been a year and a half (or so) since I started my revival with Photography and i,m still enjoying myself with whats out there. The opportunities each time I turn on the camera never cease to amaze me. Bird Photography is still the main subject to focus on and the variety of subjects here in Canberra is wonderful. Heading out into the bush with no idea what to expect and coming home with a "money" shot. stored on the card is great fun. Of course the down side, is trolling through all the "not quite good enough but i,ll keep them anyway" shots.
Also a lot of fun, is catching up with what other photographers on Flickr have to show as well. There is some truely stunning images out there. Totally awesome in fact! A good trick I find, is to click on someone else,s contacts and your bound to find some great stuff.
