I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. By the age of four, I had adopted my grandparents’ habit of getting up before dawn to appreciate the stillness of mornings, a good cup of coffee in hand. For twenty years now, I'm a Chicagoan. I like the pace here, I like the lake that looks and acts like an ocean. I like the sound of shovels on snowy walks in winter.

I’ve been taking pictures most all my life. Over the past few years, I’ve tried to make photography a bigger part of my life. I work too much, daydream too much.

I live to travel. There’s almost nothing better than the anticipation in airports, the lift when the wheels leave the ground, the warmth of the sun above the clouds, the intensity of landings. And then there’s the rush from experiencing a place for the first time and trying to capture its light, color and essence in a still image.

I love dogs. I sometimes think I can read their minds--but deep down, I know I can’t even begin to grasp the answers they must know.

I've been with my husband more than half my life--he is my partner, my conscious, my love, my friend.

Life is good. And that is my life.
